What I liked
the ladys that offer you a drink and food they were the only polite one;s at the hospital
What could be improved
staff remembering anout their paitents
the cleaness of the ward
the list is endless
Anything else?
i was booked in to be induced and i was admited to the maternity ward at 6pm on the friday the staff was very rude and didnt know that i was due to come in it got to half 7 and the finely got me a bed and then straped the baby heart reader to me and said they would be back in 20-30 mins i waited and then it got to 9pm so i rang for a midwife she turned up 20 mins later and said sorry i will have to do it again the machine wasnt setup right then she sorted it out and it then got to 12;15am when the 1st midwife came back and took it off i was then aloud to go sleep they then woke me up at 5;45 and said to have a shower and get ready to go to labour ward so i did i wasnt taken down untill 12pm after the late nite and then to be woken up early was very unfair as you are ment to rest before giving birth!
then they didnt induce me as they had left me to long that it happened naturely and i must admit the only midwife i found to be careing and helpfull was a trainee midwife.
i realised the staff dont communicate very well between each other also when your classed as high risk i would have thought they would have been more helpfull
i wouldent recommend basildon maternity department it was my 1st child and it put me off going back their
