"Poor information"

About: Ipswich Hospital

Whilst I appreciate I arrived with only a minor injury, I waited over three hours and still didn't see a triage nurse. As it was now 3 am I went home and returned the next day. I saw an excellent triage nurse and nearly four hours later saw a rather odd doctor, who seemed to have little idea on how to treat me and who have very poor use of English. I wasn't very reassured and was glad to see someone more senior. I did not mind waiting but would have liked further information. If my minor injury could have been treated elsewhere I would have been very happy to leave. I was given a wholly inaccurate idea of waiting time. I was told two hours, which turned into four.

I am so sorry you had such a poor experience of care which falls well below the standards we want to give to all of our patients. Would you be able to contact me directly so that I can understand more about what happened and how we can put this right for the future? Frances Bolger, Head of Nursing for Medicine 01473 702064.
