"cancellation of operation"

About: Spire Liverpool Hospital

I arrived as per my appointment at 7.15am on Saturday 4/6/2015 for my operation. I was shown to a room told to put my gown, white stockings, etc . nurse took my blood pressure, another nurse asked several questions, surgeon came in discussed my operation I signed the form. the anethatist came in and discussed my operation and will see you in theatre. Then the surgeon come back in and said I might have to cancel your operation I will let you know within the hour, apparently a staff member had not turned in.one hour later I was told it was cancelled.no discussion other than the surgeon felt as bad as me. to put the top hat on it I am 72 years old and nobody had the decency to ask how I would get home.on Monday 6/6/2015 I phoned the admissions dept and they were not aware that any operations where cancelled and transferred me to complaints dept I am still waiting for an explaination.
