I am currently under the care of 2 Clinics and required Day Surgery which took place yesterday (6th July 2015). My care has been fantastic from the moment I have entered the hospital for both clinics. I put this down to the way staff communicate with patients at every turn and the hospital environment being clean, bright and 'patient friendly'. The check in system (if you have a barcode on your letter) works. Yes there will be queues and emergencies do arise, resulting in delays but the system does let patients know, which is helpful and reduces the frustration of not knowing! Staff are lovely. They introduce themselves and explain their role! Seems obvious, costs nothing but the benefits are that patients feel less 'lost' in the system! Surgery is not a preferred option but I have to thank all the team who saw me through a very long day yesterday. From the reception staff to the Day Surgery Team to the Ward Team I would like to offer a big thank you! The secret to their success communication at every stage. There was 'nothing about me without me' and as I moved through the system it was seamless! A huge thank you to everyone - front line and behind the scenes. This does not happen without a strong vision and a huge amount of work. My experience showcases the NHS at its best!
