"Left in the dark due to complete incompetence"

I was sent to this hospital from the liverpool royal after suffering excruciating pelvic pain. I was brought through to see the doctor on call quickly who provided me with morphine and organised a bed for me on gynae ward base 2. This is where it all went downhill rather quickly. The nurses on this ward are horrible. For what should be a caring profession, they showed no compassion to any patients and were out and out rude on many occasions. I was ignored by the nurse who was meant to be looking after me the majority of the night. I repeatedly requested pain relief and was ignored. I sought the help of another nurse who brought up the doctor on call (I was hysterical and delirious with pain at this point) who prescribed more morphine. The next day I was taken for a ultrasound, which revealed no abnormalities. I was surprised by this as I was told the pain was likely to be a cyst. On questioning the accuracy of the scan, with a nurse (who I believe is the deputy ward manager) they became very aggressive and told me that there was nothing wrong with me gynaecologically, that I shouldn't of been in the hospital in the first place and that I wasn't to be blaming them for this. I hadn't tried to blame them at all or had acted in anyway badly to this nurse so I was shocked by their outburst. I asked another nurse if I could speak to someone else since this nurses attitude was so appalling and was told no I couldn't. I went back to my bed in agony crying my eyes out. Later the actual ward manager came to apologise, and was a real comfort to me. I was slightly constipated (probably due to the opiates) but one of the nurses decided this was the cause of my pain and for 2 days would not let me have any stronger painkillers than paracetamol. I was in agony and if it hadn't been for the nurse who came on duty at night and helped me I think I would of gone mad with the pain. They were fantastic and a credit to this otherwise terrible hospital. The next day I was subjected to totally unnecessary enemas which only increased my pain score and made me very sick. My bowels were opening normally there was no need for this at all. I asked the nurse again for strong pain relief and was spoke to like a child and told no I couldn't and they knew what was best. I asked to see the doctor who promptly told the nurse to get stronger painkillers for me. After that at least my pain was again under control. You wouldn't of left a dog in the state I was in with pain, let alone a human. The next day I was discharged and told I would be seen in clinic ASAP. After two weeks of more pain, I was taken by ambulance to the royal who then took me to the women's. It turns out they had never bothered to make an outpatient appointment for me. It should be noted that it is likely I have endometriosis which is a serious condition. The doctor on call apologised sincerely for everything but this experience has been like something out of a horror film! This pain is ruining my life!
