"GAU"

About: Leicester Royal Infirmary

I wanted to express my sincere thanks to the nurses on GAU and one nurse in particular. At the time of being approx. 12 weeks pregnant I contracted a stomach bug and had been unable to keep food or liquid down for 3 days resulting in dehydration and a late night trip to clinic 04 (also fantastic) and an admission to GAU for fluids via IV along with some anti sickness medication. This nurse and all the nurses on the GAU were reassuring, kind and informative during what was a stressful and worrying time for me. Both my husband and I are extremely grateful for the care I received and know that we have made the right choice about where I will have my baby.

Dear reviewer, Thank you for sharing your experience with us, we imagine this was a worrying time for you and your husband, so we are delighted to know the teams on GAU and in Clinic 4 offered you the best possible care, support and reassurance. We have passed this feedback onto the matron and ward sister for GAU, as well as the gynae and women services managers. If you would like to say a special thanks to the nurse you mention, why not nominate her (or the team) for a Caring at its Best award via our website http://www.leicestershospitals.nhs.uk/aboutus/our-purpose-strategy-and-values/caring-at-its-best-awards/public-nomination-form/ All the best for your labour and congratulations in advance on becoming proud parents, Best wishes Communications Team Leicester's Hospitals
