"Excellent Service, fast and efficient - thank you..."

I've visited far too many different hospitals, entering via most of the doors between A&E (via a Medivac helicopter on one occasion) and Outpatients, throughout the south of England over the past 30+ years; I can say I've experienced all kinds of service and in a wide variety of different environments. A visitor to the locality (actually I was only passing through, on a narrow boat) I'd been in a lot of pain and discomfort following a medical procedure at another hospital, a ' routine checkup' seven day's earlier. On July 4th I walked in to the Urgent Care Centre, mid evening and, from the moment I first spoke to the staff on the reception desk to the moment when I finally walked out after the doctor had diagnosed my problem and provided me with the appropriate medication, I was more than usually impressed by the care and consideration given to me by every member of staff I became involved with. The department, including the treatment room I used, was spotless; the signage, although I didn't need to follow it, seemed both clear and precise and, although there were many other folk waiting in the department, the doctor still took time to clearly explain everything I needed to know. I'd have given a rating of 5 stars all round but, thankfully, I couldn't, in all honesty, rate the 'same sex' wards - but I can say 'thank you for caring, I really appreciated it!'
