"Unable to make appointment due to transport"

About: Royal Alexandra Hospital / Ophthalmology Vale of Leven General Hospital / General Surgery

(as the patient),

I attended my GP Practice due to having pain and blurred vision for two days, I am unhappy that the locum doctor thought it was necessary to send me to the RAH to be seen by an eye specialist when I told him I had no one to take me to the RAH in Paisley.

Now I have been unable to go to be seen, then telephoned the minor assessment at the Vale of leven hospital to be told I cannot be seen there so I am now going to have to try and get to the RAH with no transport but a round a three hour trip to get there by public transport.

Dear waterloo,

Thank you for raising this matter via Patient Opinion. I am sorry that you are having problems accessing transport to the RAH. There may be other transport options available to you that we can offer and I would ask that you contact the local Clinical Service Manager for Helensburgh & Lomond, Linda Skrastin to discuss these. Linda can be contacted on:Tel 01436 655008 or l.skrastin@nhs.net

Kind regards Viv Hamilton, Locality Manager
