"Excellent service for my special needs son"

My 8 year old son who is autistic fell in the garden and split his lip quite badly. Trips to hospital are always traumatic for us as my son doesn't cope well with strangers, crowds of people, being touched or waiting for any amount of time. I explained this to staff when we first arrived and was told that a note would be put on the system. From then on we were seen swiftly, the staff were incredibly respectful of my sons needs, asking him questions, engaging him in conversation, explaining everything that they were going to do and making sure they had his full permission before going anywhere near him. I was very impressed with both the pleasant staff and waiting time, we were home within an hour and a half.

It is wonderful to have such encouraging feedback. I do hope that your son has made a full recovery. I have informed all the staff of your comments. We are always striving to ensure that the care we deliver to all our children and young people is based upon their individual needs and I am delighted to hear that your son and family had a positive experience.
