If you are going to make people wait hours and hours in A&E to be seen by a doctor the least that the hospital could do is provide padded seats for injured and and sick to sit in. Hard plastic seats makes for the most unpleasant waiting time.....ever, worse than amy airport I have had the misfortune to be stuck in (for hours and hours also).

Thanks for your comments about the seating and we are sorry you had an uncomfortable wait. This is a difficult one as in the past we have had cushioned seating but unfortunately it was often vandalised and quickly became untidy and an infection control risk. The moulded plastic seats are common-place in emergency departments as they can be easily cleaned.
