"uncaring attitude"

About: William Harvey Hospital (Ashford)

I felt the reception and some doctors were very uncaring and seemed more concerned with their own feelings towards their jobs than the feelings of the patients. At one point whilst waiting for ct, an old man was left in a bed in front of all the outpatients on his own. The waiting times just under 4 hrs was too much with no one seeming to know what was going on. When the machine broke, which they had known about before we turned up, they did not tell us for the said 3hrs 50 mins. Then tried to give us new appointments two months away. I’d already waited 4 months! The cardiology dept is a shambles with staff unbelievably ill informed about procedure and no help at all when questioned as to what was happening with treatment. Every one blamed someone else when I was misdiagnosed and no apology either. I was told to take my own blood pressure for 3 mths at home? When I did this the consultant merely hummed then said its fine which it clearly wasn’t. When I said as much, they just said my machine was wrong. I’ve been to four depts in this hospital and they were all terribly run. Opt to go elsewhere, which is what I did in the end, treated almost immediately in 3 weeks unlike 8 and a half months waiting. And three cancelled ct appointments again which no one took responsibility for or offered an apology. Stay clear of this awful place.
