"Studland Clinic:Extremely busy but handled..."

About: Poole General Hospital

A visit last week made me aware of how busy our NHS really is. Many different clinics in this department all expertly run by the bustling but happy staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them - constantly coming to the waiting area to ask of any requirements and to assure us we would soon be seen. The doctor was very plain in speaking to me about the findings and the treatment/medication I was to have and made sure I was happy that I had all the knowledge necessary. The nurse also had an input which made it complete. My visit to Pathology - which I dreaded - was made a lot less fearsome by a person who had me relaxed in no time and taught me a few tricks on how not to be so afraid of having blood taken in the future. They truly made me more comfortable and put me at ease. At the x-ray department I was again treated with respect and kindness and the information about the "machinery" when I asked about it was very interesting. I am sure this member of staff made it all the more pleasant for me. The only criticism I have is for more staff in the Pharmacy. A long queue all waiting quite a while but perhaps more staff would mean that more space would have to be provided. Some patients had buses to catch - they only run once an hour. I myself was in that category but didn't mind waiting as I had all the time in the world. Thank you.
