"orthopaedic surgery"

About: County Hospital

They did my operation efficiently and with no fuss. The same sex wards are good if they were that but staff allows relatives to stay with patients that are of the opposite sex. This then allows them to see us in very undignified ways and they hear everything that is being asked or said to .you. when I had just had surgery and couldn't go elsewhere to talk to nurses. Personal questions were asked and only a curtain was present to give privacy. Although the gentleman relative was very nice i would rather he didn't have an earful of my personal information. He was sitting next to my bed and on no occasion was he asked to give patients privacy. There is an information leaflet sent to all patients pre op stating the policy of no waiting with patients this is not put into practice. I was brought for my surgery by my husband it was a 45 min drive he returned home and waited to be called before returning so I respected the policy shame the staff didn't.
