I just wanted to say thank you to all the staff who have been involved in my recent care. Booking staff - all very helpful and courteous ENT team - for seeing me so quickly and discussing the options with me and the consultant for recognising that my deviated septum and enlarged turbinates were affecting my quality of life and that no amount of nasal spray was going to make a difference to airflow My surgeon - For being so gentle, explaining what they were going to do and for performing my surgery The anaesthetist - a lovely person who put me at ease and helped me drift off with some images of a sunny beach The theatre and recovery nurses - very reassuring and kind All the staff on the day surgery unit, ward 5. All so kind and helpful. A minor glitch, which I fully understood and accepted as being "one of those things" was dealt with swiftly and courteously with a follow-up apology from the ward sister. The clinical nurse specialist - for gently removing my splints and for understanding in advance that I would still feel "rotten" and for going through everything so thoroughly I also want to thank all the people in the background who I wouldn't have been aware of but contributed to this being a positive experience - a massive improvement on an experience of surgery I had several years ago. Too early to tell if the surgery has been a complete success but already I can breathe better than I have been able to for the last 30 years which has meant that my sleep has started to improve. I would have no hesitation in recommending the team or about being re-referred to them if required I hope that the staff are given some positive feedback, it may all be very routine for them but it has been a big thing for me, they deserve to receive it.
