"fab care in maternity"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Maternity unit

(as the patient),

I had an emergancey section 2 weeks ago and was very scared. The midwife in labour ward made me feel very relaxed although I seen many different midwives through my labour ward experience.

After a few hours I was then put into Ward 8. I was unsettled and felt anxious about sharing a room with 3 other ladies when I had a catheter in and in so much pain. The midwife looking after me was Teri. She cared for me for 2 days and she was amazing, made me feel better, helped my anxiety and kept on top of my pain for those 2 days. Teri and a nursery nurse helped me breastfeed and my wee boy successfully breastfed. I never really met that many other staff in ward 8.

A great experience and a huge thankyou to the midwife Teri for all her care and support. A credit to your midwifery team

Congratulations on the birth of your wee boy.

I am not sure if I may have already replied to your very positive posting? Are you able to let me know?

It is great to know that the staff were able to help you through the anxieties you were experiencing especially following the birth of your wee boy as it can be quite a scary time.

I hope the breastfeeding continues to be problem free and that you and your wee boy are both well and settling in to being a new family.

With best wishes to you all.
