The staff at Leicester Infirmary A&E and ICB were superb. The service struck me as excellent. I was sent to A&E by my GP and felt in safe, qualified hands from the arrival of of the emergency paramedic at my house. After a couple of hours of continuous attention in A&E I was moved to what I think is called an Intensive Care Bay where I stayed for two days. I had more tests than you can shake a stick at and the results came back quicker than Superman could have done it. When I was stable I was transferred to Ward 38 where the staff are clearly overworked and barely able to cope with the constant demands of geriatric patients. About a half of the patients were abusive to hospital staff. How can Ward 38 staff be motivated in these conditions? I don't know. They tell me that they love it.
