"Lost dentures"

About: Royal Derby Hospital

My father is 86 and gets confused, but despite that the staff did not make any effort to ensure my father's dentures were protected. Subsequently they were lost. I was the only person who seemed bothered about this. My dad now has no teeth and I have the trouble and expense of getting him new ones. No-one even explained the procedure of how and if I can claim for new ones. It was in Ward 204, room 5.

Many thanks for contacting us regarding your father's recent admission with us on Ward 204. We were sorry to hear that your father lost his dentures during his stay and for the inconveniece this has caused. I can advise that a claim form can be obtained from our Patient Advice & Liason Service (PALS) on Freephone 0800 783 7691 or via their email address dhft.contactpals@nhs.net. Once again, many thanks for your comments and we sincerely hope that you can get your father's dentures replaced at the earliest opportunity. Kind regards The Patient Experience tea for Derby teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
