"Care from West Herts Ophthalmology team"

About: Watford General Hospital

I have been attending the ophthalmology clinics in St Albans and Watford for over 10 years and have nothing but praise and gratitude to the consultants and staff who have to cope with a seemingly endless number of people with eye problems. These days I usually have to go to Watford because the laser equipment is there. Yes of course there is a wait to see the specialist but, compared to some horror stories you hear, the waiting time is very reasonable. There is room for improvement, however, regarding enquiries by phone. You phone them up and can be waiting an interminable time before the call is answered - IF it is answered. It would be nice if they could employ a system whereby you are told your number in the queue.

Thank you for your comments. We are considering how we can improve the new phone system.
