"Knee injury"

About: St Richard's Hospital

I visited the hosptial on a sunday morning due to a knee injury which had happend that morning! I arrived at A&E and went to reception and was then told to take a seat which i did. I waited 15 minutes to see the nurse once that had finished i tool a seat again to be seen by a doctor , having waitied over 1 hour to see the doctor, i went into the cubical for the doctor to see me. Having done the injury i done i knew it wasnt good news and i had a feeling that i tore my liagment but i kept my mouth shut and let the doctor do their work this doctor was a junior doctor, they took a look at my knee and sent me for a x-ray. Finished the x-ray and made the way back to the cubical i waited 5-10 minutes the junior doctor then returned with a senior orthopedic doctor and another doctor watching close behind. They then done some little test with my knee and gave me the answer of you may have bruised or sprained your knee i had told them what happened and that i heard a crack in my knee but they said its bruised or sprained! The doctors went away and the junior doctor said they would get me some medication and some crutches they quickly came back with the medication and said they would be getting the crutches in a minute! I waited 30 mintues for a pair of crutches if i hadnt of asked a nurse passing by i would have waitied longer! This was a disgrace and me being in pain but that didn't matter to the doctor! The nurse who was very helpful got the crutches and off i went home. After a week my knee was still bad in pain and heavily swollen i went back to my gp doctor when seeing them and taking a look at my knee they said you may have damaged your ligament or your cartliage which i had thought i had done! I then waited a couple of weeks for a mri and 2 months to see a speicalist! Seeing the speicalist i asked him a question which was if you hear a crack in your knee and it twist what do you think the injury is his answer was a possible 3 1. Broken bone 2. Damaged cartliage 3. Torn liagment So there was my answer a speicalist on knees and my gp who has knowledge in muscle both gave me the answer that i had guessed but it was disgraceful that the doctor i had seen in A&E didnt really want to see me and quickly gave a answer so that i would be on my way and that i would believe them! I don't think i will be getting an apology from the doctor but on the other hand the specialist was very helpful and grateful for his help
