What I liked
A few of the nurses were dedicated staff but that was very few. The person who brought the first drink of the day was always helpful but some of the catering staff could not care a less if you could not reach the food or not.
What could be improved
The initial information given to me before my operation about the operation, care during and after and the follow up care to recovery. The information given to be by nursing staff whilst in their care, and the lack of attention given to me as the patient in areas such as timing of drugs when needed, bells being answered within a decent amount time and some respect shown when speaking to me as a patient needing some care and attention whilst recovering.
Anything else?
The amount of time spent waiting for a so called specialist to do the operation but whilst waiting not knowing what the actual operation was to be or even the full details of the possible outcomes after the operation, I was in no way made to realise the possibilties of the different outcomes of the operation, or even being prepared with the proper information of the devastastating outcome that did occur and then getting the help I needed to deal with it afterwards.
"A few of the nurses were dedicated ..."
