"Adrenal Gland removal"

About: East Surrey Hospital

After cancer surgery in Oct 2013 my cancer reappeared in April 2015, detected following a routine follow up CT scan. Things moved quickly and the next surgery happened promptly in just 4 weeks. A good result. The whole experience was satisfactory apart from my inability to make contact with anyone to help me with some queries after the procedure. I had to resort to visiting my GP who was helpful, and also contacted the MacMillan nurse introduced to me early on. They were very helpful too. It would be better to have some formal contact procedure following treatment as I'm sure most patients have questions that seem urgent immediately following an operation (especially if cancer is involved). Overall A good experience with East Surrey Hospital. Thank you. John Close - Copthorne Ward.

Dear John, Thank you for the feedback about your recent surgery. I am pleased that you felt well treated overall, but also appreciate the comment you have made about being able to get answers to queries that you had after the procedure. I will pass these on to the team for them to review. It is always good to receive positive feedback and very useful to reflect on comments and suggestions about how we can improve the service we offer to our patients. With best wishes, Cathy White Patient Experience Team
