I am disgusted and applied at they way members and the a&e department handled a fire alarm going off, there was no organisation, no communication and most importantly no evacuation. I was with my girlfriend in a&e and her treatment was adequate, but when a fire alarm sounded members of staff stood around talking whether it was a drill or not, so that meant for about 2 minutes of a fire alarm sounding we was all still sat in a&e. There was no communication between members of staff, by the time we had been evacuated a fire applicance had arrived at the scene, so you can guess how long it took to get us out. What if that had been real fire, even if it was a drill they should still be evacuating the building, drills are done for a reason to save lives and been a hospital you'd think they'd have followed correct procedure. I am seriously thinking about taking this matter further.
"Very disappointed"
