On 5/6/15 I was admitted as a precaution as I was 34+6 weeks pregnant with complications. I stayed in pearl where I had steroid jabs. That evening I had a big bleed and was taken to del suite for monitoring and care. The care I received was fantastic and staff reassured me all was OK and I was in the best place. I soon calmed down after becoming very frightened. I was monitored closely all night and the midwives checked on me and baby every hour. The next day 6/6 I was taken to have an emergency sec at 35 weeks. My midwife was fantastic at keeping me calm and relaxed. The midwife had seen us the day before so knew our history and was great at making conversation and getting to know us as individuals. They were fab. Our daughter was born and the midwife respected my wishes at wanting skin to skin after birth. Back on pearl ward we were under TC nurses care and I cannot fault the care we received. We were supported at all times and I could call on them for advice and support. We were discharged after 6 days and although it was great to be home...I missed the friendliness of all the staff. After 3 days we were readmitted onto kent ward due to myself having an infection. The staff here were great and again always had time to introduce themselves and get to know me and my story. The care was faultless and I'd like to thank them all for the continuity of care I received for the 5 days I was there. Thanks to all involved in my care...We really appreciate it and wouldn't hesitate to recommend maternity services to friends and family. Their kindness and compassion made my stay pleasant.
