"Caldicott Breech"

About: Rowley Hall Hospital

Today I attended Rowley Hall on behalf of a relative. When I arrived I found the reception unattended (no more than 2 minutes) but whilst waiting I did see on the desk without any effort required for me to be looking over, a list of today's patients names and procedures they were due in for. This is a breech of patient confidentiality. I would suggest that this list be held securely if the reception is to be left unattended. I otherwise was happy with the service that gave Rowley Hall today.

Thank you very very much for bringing this matter to my attention. It is very disappointing that this has happened especially following recent refresher training on the importance of information security and a recent ISO27001 Information Security Audit. It would have been helpful for you to raise this at the time with the Hospital management team to allow us to take swift action, however the matter will be investigated fully and a solution put in place to prevent this from happening again. Thank you again Mark Lacey General Manager
