I visited the ENT on 25th June. Prior to being added to the list, I was required to be 'swabbed'. I was taken into a side room where it was explained that I would be swabbed in my nose and in my groin for MRSA. What was not explained clearly was that the swab in my nose could be (and was) uncomfortable. I made it very clear after the swab went up my first nostril that it was uncomfortable. There was no reaction from the Nursing Assistant other than to put the swab even further up my second nostril! Ouch! Even after I said to them that it hurt they made no comment. Then after I had completed my own groin swab (thankfully I was allowed to do that myself!), I was told I would have to go outside to complete the patient questionnaire. So from having exemplary service in the morning, this second visit in the afternoon, was missing the compassionate element that I had hoped I would see, especially when someone was about to put a foreign object up your nose for a swab....and not just a little bit in your nose, but a lot further than anything I would normally expect to be inserted, I.e. To the point that it was uncomfortable. If the fact that the procedure of inserting the sub up my nostrils may be uncomfortable had been explained to me, then I would not be writing this review now.
"A visit to ENT - not a super experience (sadly)"
