"Not quite there!"

About: The Princess Royal Hospital (Telford)

We are currently an in patient on the children's ward, today being our fifth day. It's lovely seeing the staff from Shrewsbury, atleast they are warm and welcoming. Unlike the frosty reception we had off the 'other' staff. *Firstly staff need training on the availability of '10 park for £8' parking tickets for long term patients, being told "we don't do them I've never heard of them, you have to speak to parking attendants" is an enormous annoyance after already being forced to drive to Telford in te first place. Yes they are available so just hand over the form so I can take It to the CP attendants and get my ticket before I'm fined! Hour and 20 minutes to sort out a basic requirement. * 5 days later not a single drug has been given on time, an hour late again this morning, hence this review. Important meds too. *The children's ward door system is broken. Children and visitors can either go as and when or the opposite can't get in because the intercom is temperamental. *Eduction. Only one hour a day provision? Really? *Lastly. What is with the unfinished work on the ward? It's been open 9 months and still many jobs incomplete. Staff roll their eyes when you ask them about it as say they're told it's a budget issue. Well PRH management come on pull your finger out. And sort your so called 'super centre' promises you filled us parents from Shrewsbury/north wales/many other country towns with. It's like a morgue on here; No art no posters no murals, nothing. Grey and white miserable wards, nothing to excite/entertain children. Do you know how hard it is 1 2 3 and 5 am walking the 'grey mile' with an upset child who won't sleep and there's not a single cartoon character or Disney idol to point at? Stop making excuses and act.
