My Consultant requested that my name be placed on the waitlist for Cardioversion because of my Atrial Fibrillation Flutter. Within a week I was contacted by letter from the Arrythymia Specialist Nurse which also contained an explanatory information booklet on my forthcoming Cardioversion Procedure. It fully explained why and what is the procedure and the potential benefits of the procedure. The nurse made telephone contact with me and talked me through it all in order to bring me in quickly. As part of my workup to my procedure I was a to have weekly checks on my Warfarin INR level to be over 2.0 for four weeks. I had the Cardioversion Procedure done yesterday (24th June 2015) which was a success as the nurse said it would be. I have an ICD implant which possibly made it a bit more concerning. However, the care, consideration and devotion shown by the nurse (who never left my side) before, during and after the procedure. It was also comforting to be accompanied by two Pacing Physiologists and the staff of Birch Ward. The Coronary Care Unit at St Peters Hospital is in safe, competent and caring hands. You are all a credit to The NHS. Thankyou.
