I attended Addenbrookes A&E with my 2 year old on Tuesday evening, following an appointment with my GP. She had been suffering from croup like symptoms since Sunday but on Tuesday afternoon her symptoms worsened & she was displaying some new symptoms which are on the meningitis watch list. As we arrived at A&E my daughter vomited, thus adding to my worry. Every member of the A&E team that we spoke to/dealt with us were outstanding. We were seen quickly, professionally, treated with respect & my daughter was given medication that improved her breathing very quickly. I cannot speak highly enough of the doctors, nurses and support staff who were in shift at the time. Too many people are too quick to criticise our Nhs service when they should consider themselves extremely lucky to live in a country that provides the level of care that we received.
