What could be improved
working as a volunteer i have often noticed nursing staff both entering and leaving the building wearing their uniforms. surely for the sake of infection reductions, uniforms should only be worn once staff member had arrived at the hospital? i have also noticed some of the porters not using hand cleansing jels when they enter or leave pharmacy (where i do voluntary work).
finally, the green bags that are used to get required patient medicines to appropriate wards are often filthy. why can't either disposable bags be used or a system installed whereby existing green bags are sterilised before each use?
please ensure my details are not given out as i enjoy working at the hospital and know that most staff do their utmost to control spread of infections.
