"If it was a complaint I would ..."

About: Broomfield Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

If it was a complaint I would have sent it directly but like all of us I have

dragged my heels with this compliment.

What a great NHS experience.

Arrived at 8.0 am in waiting room with possible cut tendon in my hand. Although there was approx 15 other patients.

I was seen by doctors by 9.15 am. and would only need a local antithetic for theatre op.

Then a Nurse offered me tea, coffee, white or black. Toast (white or brown) or cereal. Wow which hotel is this.

At about 10.30 am an emergency took priority in theatre so all op's stopped until emergency cleared.

At 12 o'clock used Hospital canteen - with wide selection of food, great standard and a good price.

Got back from lunch at approx 2.15 pm. gowned up and taken to theatre.

This being my first time in for an op (only a minor op but still worried)

was very pleased when the lady surgeon and anaesthetist explained the procedure which gave me

confidence.

My hand has now completely healed, I am grateful for the fantastic treatment from the NHS.

Many thanks, Alex.

What could be improved

Hospital plan for direction to wards etc. should be better shown
