"I cannot thank them all for what they did for me"

About: The Princess Royal Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

Considering the ward I was in was for bones, it was having to be used as a Geriatric Ward. I know these poor souls have to be cared for but as the four who were in our part of the ward had come from nursing homes, surely a bit more effort should have been put into looking after them especially all the money they get paid to do so. Perhaps if they money they get paid was transferred to the Hospital wards it would free the beds a little. I honestly don’t know how the staff keep up, doctors, nurses cleaners + meal time staff. Two of us were continually ringing our bells or shouting for help as one or other of the old ladies kept getting out their bed, had we not bothered and one of them were to fall + break something how can staff do their work when they are under such pressure. They all deserve a medal especially as there was hardly anything for them to eat in the canteen and New Year morning they menu was sausage roll. I could have cried to see the waste from the patients trolley + yet nothing for the staff. Its time someone does a bit of research and does some organising. Perhaps a talk to the staff they could come up with some new ideas. I cannot thank them all for what they did for me. God bless them all.
