"My operation has been cancelled"

About: Trafford General Hospital / General surgery

(as the patient),

I was due to have an operation on Monday but have received a letter today to say it has been cancelled. My consultant arranged this date several months ago so that I can return to work in September and not be absence during the next academic year. My attendance has been poor over the last few years and as my job is teaching in a primary school they are beginning to question whether I am able to do the job or not. I am at risk of losing my job if this operation does not go ahead on Monday. Is there anything I can do?

We are very sorry to hear of your concern regarding the postponement of your surgery as it is important to us that your comments are heard and seen as an opportunity to assist where possible and make changes and improvements to our services where identified.

We have passed your concerns directly to the team involved so that they can review what has happened and learn from your experience so that others do not experience the same issues as you did.
