About: Colchester General Hospital

The nursing staff in the ward are first class they work extreme long hours with a short break its a wonder how they cope so well. They are dedicated brilliant professionals. However those in the Cath lab should watch what they say when a patient is laying in a vulnrable position and not able to back in one case I was called a liar with a scalpel in the drs hand I did not argue .later when asking if all was going well another in the room replied don't worry I have to tell you by law if your dying . The ward was mixed on that day and ordinary was ensured but uncomfortable for some patients. Ward perfect Cath lab needs people skills training esp consultants and scrub nurse.

I apologise you’ve not had a good patient experience. We try really hard to improve our services based on the comments we receive from our patients, their relatives or carers. We would like the opportunity to discuss your experiences more fully and to apologise in person. If you are willing I would appreciate it if I could ask the matron to contact you. Could you email me, using the reference “Comment on Cardiology at 22/06/2015 14:56:02 ”, please? Many thanks Paul Searle, Head of Communications Colchester Hospital University NHS Foundation Trust info@colchesterhospital.nhs.uk
