"My experience as a "first timer" in A and E"

About: Pinderfields General Hospital

My local GP sent me to A & E on Thursday18 June with a suspected kidney stone, so I was in quite a bit of pain when I reached the waiting room. I was seen without too much delay and soon given pain relief, which happily took effect quite quickly. A doctor examined me and confirmed that it was indeed a kidney stone causing my pain so they arranged for me to have a CT scan to pinpoint the exact location of the stone. The doctor even drew diagrams for me to explain why I was getting pain. Everyone of the Staff in that extremely busy department was unfailingly pleasant, caring and helpful. It was quite a long day but that was perfectly understandable because of the sheer number of patients needing to be seen and at the end of the day I was allowed to return home. So, from me a huge thank you to all the staff who dealt with me, Carole Lloyd

Dear Carole Thank you very much indeed for your feedback and kind comments. Whilst no one likes visiting A&E, our staff do try to make the experience a stress free as possible; it's pleasing to note that they were successful, and that your experience was positive.
