"problem with public transport"

About: Options for Independence (Care Home)

(as a service user),

The story include public transport because when you trying to use the bus you feel alienated because you are in a wheelchair and sometimes the bus driver runs by you. When I come here I don't have problem because I can use the mini bus. I go to computer course and theatre and cinema.

Good afternoon betty boo1,

Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry to read of your experiences at times using public transport. I have though also heard of others who have thankfully had more positive experience and help from drivers in particular.

Although we do offer our own minibus, can I also suggest that you speak with one of the staff team and hopefully we can offer direct support in you accessing public transport. Together with the support worker, you can identify specifically what you need to be more independent.

I would hope you have also given public transport staff the opportunity to respond to some of your observations/critisism direct.

Thank you again and I look forward to hearing from you soon with hopefully some improvement in your experiences.

Kind regards,

Roy
