One of my family member was recently being treated at the Leicester General Hospital admitted in ITU. ITU staff I must say are very helpful and nice. The care and support that was provided was amazing and really commendable. Everything was spot on and we were kept informed about everything that was going on. The extent to which all the staff go to is really praiseworthy. ITU isn't somewhere you want to see your closed ones, it is such a stressful place to be however when you are in there the atmosphere that the staff create is really praiseworthy, all of them understand exactly what you are going through and the reassurance and the freindly support is just amazing and honestly we can't fault anything from the ITU staff. The surgical team and the physios were also brilliant and very professional.Thumbs up also for the ITU HCA all brilliant. However when it came to the treatment received on ward 27 I must say it was horrific. I can understand wards can be very busy at times and nurses are rushed up their feet but that doesn't mean patients' care should be compromised. Some of the staff nurses are really pleasant but some of them have got really bad attitude problem. However I am very positive that this issue could be solved. Although the care on the ward was not very great I am still grateful and thankful regarding the overall care and treatment that was received at Leicester General hospital. Some of the areas that could do with some improvements would be the discharge process and also please the attitude of the staffs at the end of the day you leave your closed and loved ones there and you expect them to be treated with respect and dignity and not to be ignored when needed. Nonetheless a big thanks to everyone that was involved in the care of my family member and he is home now and making a good recovery.
"Execellent care"
