"A&E + ICU"

Having being refused ambulance assistance I drove my wife to A&E early in the morning. There was quite queue but one of the staff observed that my wife was weak and in distress. They took her straight in. She had pancreatitus and her blood pressure was very low. After 10 days in the Intensive Care unit she recovered ok. So 10 out of 10 for this hospital. 0 out of 10 for the Ambulance service. I wrote to complain about the new assessments prior to allocating an ambulance but just got a very condiscending reply from a jobsworth about how good his system was even though they totally misjudged how critical my wifes condition was.
