Today's visit at pediatric A&E with my 13-year old after head injury was really reassuring. The situation was a bit complicated - I had to pick up her younger sister from a nearby school, contact my husband (not having my mobile or his no. with me) - but absolutely nothing was a problem for the most friendly NHS staff I've ever met. The nurses are very friendly, caring and compassionate. The doctors are approachable, professional and flexible. The visit itself lasted from 5.30 to 8.30 - in 3 hrs she was examined, observed, scanned, diagnosed and discharged. Everything promptly but without unnecessary rush that may make some unaccustomed parents afraid or anxious. Everything was explained and our consent was sought for each procedure/ medication/ diagnostic evaluation. I will remember that and recommend Newham University Hospital to all residents of Newham! Dear Doctors and Nurses, as I told you earlier in person, you're made of gold :)
