"lack of communication"

About: Northwick Park Hospital

My husband was referred by the urgent care centre to the fletcher ward last Friday at 8am he was scheduled in for a minor procedure, he was informed it would be done on the same day, however due to very lack of communication and an error made by staff he was informed at 9pm he would have to stay overnight and the op would be done on Saturday. The following day my husband heard the surgeon telling the nursing staff off, as the board where patients who are due for surgery was all incorrect and the surgeon should have seen him the previous day. When he was finally treated and later ready to be discharged the staff took several hours to arrange antibiotics and a discharge letter, we were then informed that the letter could not be given as their systems were down. Overall we found the whole process very unprofessional, the lack of communication was disgusting and we would not go back.
