"On the whole, the service is excellent"

After suffering a bad fall in mid-February it was very difficult for me to get around. My husband is disabled and so we were really struggling to get our shopping done. I spoke to my doctor about this and he suggested we try and get extra help from Elite Care. However the contact details our doctor gave me were incorrect, although my husband did find the right details in the phone book.

After contacting Elite Care and explaining the support we needed it took just a few days for the support to be provided – we now have someone to do our shopping twice a week. Samantha is particularly good, always very careful and helpful. Samantha generally comes on Tuesday and is quite punctual, I’m hoping we can have her on Friday’s as well – at the moment we have different girls on Friday and it can be quite late before they get here – around 7: 00pm sometimes. This is a bit of a problem as we do like to have fresh fish on Friday and it’s difficult to prepare a meal without knowing what I’ll be getting in my shopping and this makes the meal quite late. It would be lovely to have the assurance that the shopping will be here by 6: 00pm.

Apart from this the service is excellent.

Thank you for sharing your experiences of Elite Care with the wider community. On the whole the support appears to have provided positive outcomes at what was clearly a difficult time for you and your husband.

Because I am aware of the worker that provides the majority of your support I have been able to look into Friday's in a bit more detail. It is my understanding that Samantha attends on most Tuesday's and on alternate Fridays. The only reason that Samantha cannot attend every Friday is due to her being off on alternate Fridays.

In regards to the timings on a Friday I have spoken to the coordinator responsible for your support and unfortunately we would not be in a position to bring the time forward on Fridays due to other commitments early evening.

Hopefully this is something that can be looked at again if circumstances change. The coordinator has also informed that a schedule is posted out to you in advance of visits so hopefully this will assist you with planning times.
