My mother spent a dreadful and pointless 6 days in Broomfield last week. She was checked in after a routine appointment and needed blood transfusions and tests. The blood transfusions were carried out ok, she then spent 4 days waiting for the tests. The nurses and doctors could not communicate on anything, they showed very little sympathy or empathy for her and asked her ridiculous questions such as if the procedure doesn't go to plan would you like to be resussitated afterwards. The treatment was cold and they showed no human compassion or care. After being given excuse after excuse she was due to have the tests on her fifth day in there, she was then told after having been on liquids only all day due to the tests, that there was no appointments for the tests. She then was given the same information the next day and then when 2 doctors finally came round to see her who didn't agree, she wasn't given the tests and was discharged. The treatment and way she was treated was so bad and nobody seemed to care at all about how this would affect her. She went in as a healthy 70 year old and came out depressed, dehydrated, underfed, anxious and totally fed up, with being completely messed around. I would certainly not recommend Broomfield at all for any treatment!
