"Thank you for your care and kindness"

About: South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust / Emergency ambulance Southmead Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as a relative),

My husband experienced excruciating pain like an explosion in his twenty year old hip replacement. The two paramedics arrived very quickly and were brilliant James and Dave. They were both very caring and needed support from an ambulance team with a chair and strong pain relief to get him downstairs.

Lindsey and Lewis the ambulance team administered pain relief and then the four of them did a great job of getting my husband downstairs in a very tiny quirky cottage. They took us to Southmead A and E and stayed until we were settled in. We cannot thank the four of you enough. My husband is awaiting a revision hip replacement as his replacement is broken in two.

Thank you all for your care and kindness.

Dear Greenways

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I hope your husband is currently comfortable and has a speedy recovery following his operation.

It is always rewarding to hear that our staff are continuing to provide excellent care to our patients when they need us most.

I would like to pass your kind comments onto the ambulance crews who came to your husbands aid. Would you be able to contact me, laura.martin@swast.nhs.uk or call 01392 453831, at your convenience, with the date and address that the ambulance attended? This would allow me to identify the staff involved and ensure they are recognised for the care they gave.

Please quote your Patient Opinion user name "Greenways" in your contact.

Thank you again for providing feedback on our service.

Kind regards

Laura
