"Wastage of NHS resources"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - City Campus / Colorectal surgery

(as the patient),

This is partly a complaint, but more a comment on the apparent wastage of NHS time. My GP referred me for further investigation and within a week I had received a letter from the surgery giving details of an appointment at the General Rectal Surgery Clinic at Nottingham City Hospital (Nottingham University Hospitals Trust) for June, about 3 weeks ahead. All well and good.

However, now with just a week to go, I have received another letter, from the hospital, changing the appointment to August, another 8 weeks to wait with the same symptoms.

Why bother to issue the June appointment if it couldn't be fitted in for a further 8 weeks? It wasted time and resources, as well as raising my hopes that my problems would be investigated, only to give me nearly 2 more months to wait.

Thank you for your prompt response. I phoned the number and extensions you give, but no one was available to take my calls.
