About: South Tyneside District Hospital

I visited the hospital half a dozen times for various heart tests. The first one 3 months ago, the last one about 6 weeks ago. I have heard absolutely nothing from the hospital since. I don't know if that means I'm in the clear or, more probably, nobody can be bothered to tell me. I've tried getting copies of my test results in terms of the Data Protection Act so I can see a doctor in private practice but even that has so far been fruitless. The people in cardiology are rather stand-offish; I think they see themselves as the 'elite corps', and you hear a lot of sighing. I could no longer go back to the hospital even if I had to and they would let me - they don't take kindly to criticism - so now worry has been added to my problems.

I am very concerned you have not received any results from your various visits over a three month period. I would be grateful if you could write to me directly at South Tyneside District Hospital, Harton Lane, South Shields, NE34 0PL, or email me at lorraine.lambert@stft.nhs.uk in order that I can have this matter investigated and provide you with a formal response. I have copied the relevant managers in to this response in order that they can discuss your comments with the staff in the unit. The last thing we want to do is add any additional stres or anxiety when you are already concerned about your condition. Please accept my apologies for this lapse in communication.
