"No Dinner!!"

About: Blackheath Hospital

My son came to the hospital for an operation on his leg in May. I was staying overnight with him so we both ordered dinner and breakfast. When my son went down for his surgery the dinner was being served. My husband and I assumed they would leave it in his room. We popped out for a coffee and on our return found nothing had been left. We waited and still nothing. When my son returned from theatre he was very poorly so couldn't have eaten anyway but I could. Time went on and then it was too late to get anything but no-one had come in to ask. I cannot fault the nursing staff who looked after my son fantastically but the catering staff need to be more efficient. It states in the brochure that food can be served until late but not the case in my situation. I had nothing until the next morning!!!! I look forward to hearing your comments.

Thank you for letting us know about this. I am so sorry to hear that you went hungry that night. I have discussed this with the catering manager and he too apologises. Please do contact me so we can discuss your complaint further. I am delighted to hear you were happy with the care at the hospital and I hope your son makes a good recovery. Kind regards Joanna Gallagher Quality and Risk Manager BMI The Blackheath Hospital
