"Suspected stroke"

About: Leighton Hospital

Arrived at about 8.45 in A&E last night after experiencing severe head pain and tingling sensations in my face. The receptionist was efficient and considerate. Realised my pain and must have placed me on high priority. I saw the waiting room and my heart sank. It was full, smelt stale and noisy, due to the volume of people. There was an estimated 3hr wait. My husband didn't hardly have time to sit down when I was called to triage. The nurse was professional and compassionate. After observations they put me in a wheelchair and took me to the main A&E treatment bay. after a short wait I was seen, had a CT scan and a report by the doctor. A warning! On my way home with good news at 11pm. Excellent care, thanks and well done. Norma Bayley
