"Communication"

About: Worthing Hospital

yet another complaint.... Came for an appointment on Monday 1st June to Audiology, having been to ENT for a follow up appointment after a ear op in January. I was told I could have a smaller hearing aid because the full one made my ear sore. When I got in I was told they couldn't give me one as they didn't have verification from the doctor in ENT. And they couldn't access my records as they were run as two different departments . .??? So I've come away with out a hearing aid I can wear and am now waiting for another appointment. I can't believe that the two department that deal with ears can't access each other's records. I'm fed up with all the problems I've had with appointment and now this..... Communication is the answer... E A Janes

Thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback. The audiology and ENT services are each run by different hospitals, hence holding different records (although patients are seen at the same hospital). I appreciate this is a bit confusing, and does not excuse a lack of communication though. If you would like some help in investigating this more fully, please contact the PALS (Patient Advice and Liaison Service) at worthing on 01903 285032 or by emailing them on palsworthing@wsht.nhs.uk
