I have very poor eyesight and had come out without my glasses. I accidentally put the incorrect registration number in the parking eye machine and couldn't even read it to see it was wrong. I have now been sent a £70 fine. I have appealed against this and still have a copy of my ticket. What should I do if I am forced to pay £70 for a visit to a hospital, when I had clearly paid and not tried to defraud the system, but simply have poor eyesight? Please note that I was far from home and this story is about South Tyneside Hospital
