I was sent to A&E by Gwent OOH in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Reception was rather staid (probably looked at me and thought "another fussy mother") but my 2 year old was seen quickly. Had to wait then for a doctor for quite a while, nurses were reassuring, especially upon hearing my child's wheezy breathing, and were even more lovely when I began to get a bit tearful.
Sent up to children's ward, assessed by Mair who was lovely and personable, then moved into a bed on very small ward.
From then on in, outstanding care from doctors, nurses and everyone who were lovely to my son and very reassuring to me. I have never had a bad experience at this hospital, and, although they are obviously stretched, as are all areas of the NHS, they are so caring and kind.
Thank you for helping my son.
