"emergency admission for suspected AF"

About: Southend Hospital

My wife was advised to call an ambulance this morning after feeling very unwell and from the very rapid arrival of the ambulance to her discharge from A&E 4 hours later, the treatment from every staff member throughout this period was quite outstanding. Without exception they were professional but extremely caring and reassuring to my very anxious, elderly wife. It was clear throughout our stay that my wife's treatment that she was their first priority. They were all careful to explain exactly what they were doing and the tests being undertaken. For someone who is a particularly anxious person the personal care she was receiving was most reassuring and satisfaction. I would be grateful if you would convey thanks to all the staff involved at the time of her stay, approximately 12.00 noon and 4.00pm on Sunday 14th. June. With our grateful thanks, Brian on behalf of Sandra

Dear Brian & Sandra, Thank you for your post relating to the treatment Sandra received within our A&E department. I am so pleased to hear such positive feedback and can assure you I have already passed this onto management for staff to see. It is so important for us as a trust to receive such feedback to know that patients are treated and cared for positively. Thank you for taking the time to post your comments and wishing you both well for the future. Regards, Louise McIver, Patient Involvement
